About

Jalal Moughania serves as Principal Attorney and the Chief Communications Officer at ATLAW.

Moughania has served as outside legal counsel to emerging companies, closely held businesses, international corporations, NGOs, entrepreneurs, artists, corporate executives and boards of directors. Moughania’s corporate practice covers a broad range of services including commercial contracts, corporate formation and governance, trademark clearance and registration, mergers and acquisitions, negotiations, and international business transactions.

After working in Washington, D.C. as a law and policy associate, Moughania returned to Michigan to co-found a boutique law practice focusing on international business law, trademark law, and nonprofit law. Within a year, Moughania’s transactional practice was acquired by a midsize firm complementing its established litigation practice to better serve the needs of its diverse clients. After helping build this platform, he took an opportunity to serve his clients and expand his base at two of the top firms in Michigan.

Moughania has represented and advised international organizations with yearly gross revenues of $100+ million and spanning operations across North America, Africa, Europe, and the Middle East. He has managed the trademark portfolios of established name brands and celebrities with millions of followers.

Moughania regularly advises on, drafts, and negotiates operating agreements, mergers and acquisitions, non-disclosure and confidentiality agreements, IP and tech licensing contracts, and other commercial transactions and agreements for clients across different industries including the food and beverage industry, the entertainment industry, and the manufacturing industry.

Moughania is a member of the Business Law and International Law sections of the American Bar Association. He is a member of the MI Muslim Bar Association.

In addition to his legal practice, Moughania co-founded a nonprofit foundation in 2012, the Mainstay Foundation, dedicated to education and development for underserved communities across the globe. The Foundation is celebrating 10 years of excellence and service.

Moughania is an author and speaker regularly contributing on the intersections of law, faith, leadership and society. One of his recent works is a book he co-authored coinciding with the historic visit of Pope Francis to Iraq in March 2021 called, “The Pope Meets the Ayatollah.”
